As a therapist, sex educator and community developer, he has expertise in sexual development and trauma. H. R.’s focus is one of integral self discovery through an exploration of the physical realm via medical sciences; the mental, emotional and social realms through psychology and social work; spiritual realm through vision quests, retreats and ceremonies of various traditions (with an emphasis on Native American ways); and the sexual realm through sexual/spiritual teachings from different traditions, especially the Chuluaqui Quodoushka teachings of the Sweet Medicine Sundance path.
